A Loners Friend 3It had been months since the bizarre phenomenon that nearly killed Kennet, and since then he had been somewhat content. But his past has tormented his thoughts like a phantom. Everything he did had a hint of his past on dark nights like these, after the nocturnal beings silenced. Kennet woke in cold sweats, dreaming of shadows and hounds chasing him. The first thing he realized was Skye's tongue against his hand. Slowly, he brought his closed fist to the front of his face and eased his hands open.
